Le Pain Quotidien is a chain of bakery stores and restaurants operating in 10 countries across Europe, the USA and the Middle East. Our main cities include Paris, New York, London, Geneva, Rome, Los Angeles, Brussels, Istanbul, Dubai, and Beirut and many others.
The company was founded 16 years ago in Brussels and is focused on offering its customer a unique combination of a restaurant, bakery and a retail operation - all located on the same premises.
In the restaurant we strive to provide beautifully prepared and healthy dishes made from the highest quality ingredients. We are very committed to supporting organic and sustainable production methodologies and source may of our ingredients from such sources. Our customer bases consists 70% of women and is middle and upper middle class focused. Our locations usually generate in excess of $1.5m and up to $4m sales per year.
We produce our own bread and pastries using only traditional and artisanal production methodologies and locally sourced ingredients. These products are at the heart of the brand and the history of the company and we do not compromise in the production of these products.
In the retail shop we offer customer the chance to take home our breads and pastries and also many of the menu items and even the ingredients that we use in our kitchen. Today our retail operations generate 30% of our sales and are absolutely integral to the brand and the success of the business.
Le Pain Quotidien in Russia
Based in central Moscow, OOO "LPK" is responsible for developing the Le Pain Quotidien Our first bakery-cafe is open in Moscow at the Evropeisky Centre at Kievsky Vokzal in February and 6 more locations are planned by the first quarter of 2008. The company plans to develop up to 25 company owned and an equal number of joint venture stores across Russia between 2006 and 2011.
