OEM System Engineer (outstaffing contract)
Workgroup’s Purpose:
- The OEM group’s purpose is to build the most loyal and engaged Local OEM/System Builder community where Microsoft is recognized as a positive business partner and leader in delivering value, engagement and the right partner experience worldwide. This workgroup also is accountable for Local OEM CPE within the country and strategy alignment with Microsoft’s Covered, Named, SBC, and distributor OEM marketing goals.
Job’s Purpose This job has the following purposes:
- Provide OEM readiness activities:
- Prepare and develop content for technical OEM trainings
- Participate in TTT (train the trainer) and know the content of OEM trainings, including Windows OPK and Windows Support trainings
- Provide local OEM trainings and presentations of OEM products, including regional visits and events
- Provide broad technical presale in the regions:
- Prepare and execute regional technical OEM seminars with refresh of actual information on available Microsoft products in OEM channel, products features and roadmap, specific OEM technology to preinstall and customized OEM products (at least in one Russian region every two months)
- Answer to the technical questions from regional account managers and OEM partners, if questions relate to OEM specifics. Function as technical expert on partner support line through OEMSUPRU alias
- Provide technical presale at targeted regional OEM partners (regional direct partners):
- Prepare and translate technical OEM communications to the targeted regional partners
- Establish direct communication with targeted partners on monthly basis. Provide phone call or direct visit to the targeted partners to monitor partner’s understanding of technical OEM communications, current state of technical side of partner’s OEM business, answer to the actual partner’s technical questions, and collect information for department’s scorecards
- Participate in partner’s event as presenter and evangelist of Microsoft OEM products and their features
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 1-3 years of related experience as technical trainer, technical presale engineer or consulter
- Preferable knowledge of OEM preinstallation technologies for any Microsoft products
- Strong and clear presenting skills, verbal and written communication abilities required for convincing and persuasive follow up with technical representatives of partners
- Ability to work responsibly against deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with peers in a team
