Responsibilities:
  • Business Development Manager (BDM) will support the delivery of business development objectives across specific industries.
  • BDM will be working closely with industry leadership, client teams and other business development and marketing professionals.
  • BDM will identify, leverage and maximize revenue generation opportunities, by facilitating and developing all aspects of the business development process.
  • BDM will monitor progress and provide feedback on progress against targets and deliverables of the business plan
  • BDM will be responsible for the monitoring and reporting of key clients and targets' financial performance against targets. Providing input to annual planning process.
  • BDM will ensure implementation of a co-ordinated strategy to support propositions. This will be rolled out internally and to existing and target clients. This will require an understanding of key industry issues, and working with the partners targeting audit and non-audit clients to identify and exploit cross-selling opportunities and positions.
  • BDM will be responsible for the provision of tactical and strategic support on audit, tax and advisory proposals and tenders. You will take on the role of strategic adviser; acting as a sounding board to the teams; facilitating meetings and challenging the key sales messages and propositions;
  • BDM will devise and support key client management programmes and activities for priority clients
Experience required:
  • Degree level qualification or equivalent
  • Extensive and broad business development experience operating in a management level role.
  • Proven track record of delivering business development strategies and tactics in a professional services/partnership environment.
  • Hands on experience of managing "blue chip" proposals and tenders.
  • Excellent project management/portfolio management skills.
  • People management skills - to motivate, manage & develop teams both virtual and local.
 
Skills and knowledge required:
  • Sound business understanding and commercial awareness; ability to focus on long term strategy.
  • Positive "can do' approach; be self motivated, with an ability to devise as well as implement business development strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills - written and oral.
  • Powerful facilitation and influencing skills - credibility; able to challenge and advise senior management.
  • Be politically aware and sensitive to competing internal requirements and priorities.
  • Strong relationship building & networking skills.
  • Creativity and innovation - to be able to effectively communicate key business messages to a diverse audience.
  • Good analytical skills - ability to apply relevant industry trends and issues to business development activities.
  • Strong presentation skills - aimed at high level management.
