Population Services International (PSI) is a global nonprofit organization focused on the encouragement of healthy behavior and affordability of health products. PSI was founded in 1970 to improve reproductive health using commercial marketing strategies and has expanded to work in over 50 countries in the areas of malaria, family planning, HIV, diarrhea, pneumonia and sanitation. PSI is headquartered in Washington, DC.

PSI Central Asia began implementing HIV prevention and drug demand reduction programs in 2002. Under those programs, PSI promoted healthier behaviors to at-risk youth, people who inject drugs and sex workers in high-risk sites along major opiate trafficking routes. PSI expanded its work in the region in 2007 to include family planning projects to priority populations.

Today PSI Central Asia carries out a 5-years long USAID Central Asia HIV Flagship Activity providing services to people living with HIV and key populations, linking HIV positive clients to care and treatment, as well as testing services to their partners and those at highest risk of HIV.
