Position Summary
We are hiring Medical Data Quality Specialist to join our team. Data Quality Specialist is responsible for quality checking of molecular findings in the NGS report.
Job responsibilities
- Quality checking of molecular findings used for report generation.
- Preparing results for final approval by the Laboratory Director;
- Collaborating with the Report Generation Team;
- Flagging any report-related issues or questions to the Report Generation Team for subsequent resolution;
- Participating in investigations (e.g., CAPA/NCR), documenting findings, contributing to root cause analysis, and supporting verification of effectiveness;
- Identifying and escalating product-related issues and data quality risks; contributing to the development and maintenance of product quality evaluation criteria and scorecards;
- Establishing report quality control standards and evaluation protocols;
- Reviewing NGS evidence in IGV and supporting variant interpretation in alignment with established guidelines;
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree at a minimum, Master’s degree in Medicine, Biology or equivalent;
- Strong biological background with intuitive understanding of biology, genetics, and NGS methods;
- Ability to comprehend and evaluate results of clinical trials; experience in scientific and clinical work in oncology is preferred.
- Familiarity with bioinformatics and statistics is highly desirable; experience with IGV and common NGS data formats (e.g., BAM/VCF/MAF) and pipelines is a plus.
- Programming skills (e.g., SQL, R, or Python) are a plus.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and sound professional judgment;
- Must meet CLIA/CAP and State qualifications if performing clinical patient testing, as applicable.
