Role overview

This role combines elements of business and system analysis, with a primary focus on business analysis: requirement elicitation, scenario decomposition, and preparation of detailed specifications for the engineering team.
You will work from a short input provided by the Product Manager (brief + UI mock) and deliver a complete, structured specification covering logic, states, edge cases, and expected system behavior.

No code review or coding skills are required, but strong technical reasoning is essential.

Why an IT background is required

The product includes extensive logic, data versioning, and numerous edge-case scenarios. To work effectively, the analyst must understand how web applications behave and think in terms of:
• state transitions,
• assumptions and constraints,
• edge cases and failure conditions,
• data flow and consistency.

The ideal candidate profile:
• Started in QA (manual or mixed) and developed strong analytical and systems thinking skills;
• Transitioned into business/system analysis and has 2+ years of experience in this role;
• Demonstrates the ability to write precise, unambiguous, end-to-end specifications.

Key Responsibilities
1. Requirement Analysis
• Work with short inputs from the Product Manager.
• Analyze UI mocks and clarify business and system rules.
2. Specification Development
• Produce comprehensive specifications describing screens, user actions, states, transitions.
• Document logic, constraints, edge cases, and alternative flows.
• Ensure clarity and consistency for engineering and QA teams.
3. Stakeholder Communication (English)
• Clarify requirements and present proposed solutions.
• Participate in calls with US-based stakeholders (occasionally in the evening, Moscow time).
• Prepare documentation and written communication in English.
4. Development Support
• Answer questions from engineers during implementation.
• Ensure the delivered functionality aligns with approved specifications.

Requirements
Experience
• 2+ years in a Business Analyst or System Analyst role.
• 5 years in IT overall, including QA or development experience.
• Proven ability to create full-cycle specifications with detailed logic and edge-case coverage.
Skills
• Strong understanding of web application principles (client–server, states, data behavior).
• Excellent analytical and structured thinking.
• Ability to decompose complex flows and document them clearly.
• Confident work with requirements and technical documentation.

Language
• Fluent English — required for documentation and stakeholder communication.
