Job Position: Payroll accountant

Job Purpose:

The Payroll accountant will be part of a growing HR&Payroll department, providing payroll services to a diverse range of international clients. The payroll accountant will have a solid understanding of payroll legislation of Kazakhstan and will be able to process payrolls from start to finish, will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payrolls, responding to client inquiries, tracking payrolls and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The assistance in preparation of monthly payrolls. Ensure accurate and timely processing of the work in accordance with legislation, Company Procedures and client requirements
  • Collect payroll information data from clients.
  • Input clients’ data into payroll software. Cross check data in software and provided documentation
  • Preparation payment documents in online-banking systems
  • Maintain records, file tax reports and statistical reports, prepare accounting transactions and documents
  • Prepare reports for management
  • Assistance in HR documentation preparation for the clients
  • Maintenance of the payroll and HR related registers and logs
  • The candidate will work closely with the senior staff, and may be asked to complete other tasks on different clients, in order to support the team
  • Escalation of client/work issues to Supervisor
  • Adherence to delivery assurance policies, processes and procedures
  • Undertake tax year end delivery as and when required, ensuring compliance with all statutory obligations
  • Answer payroll/client queries in a timely manner
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with clients

Key knowledge and experience:

  • University graduate in Accounting/Finance
  • Highly numerate
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a payroll accountant/accountant role
  • Experience of processing payrolls end to end
  • Understands employee payroll issues, possesses strong problem-solving skills, and communicates solutions effectively, professionally, and respectfully
  • Computer proficiency: MS Office packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Prior experience with 1C (8.2) payroll software is an advantage
  • Fluency in Russian and strong knowledge of English - both written and spoken (intermediate is a minimum level)
  • Knowledge of Kazakh language is preferable
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, flexible, and able to adjust to changing work demands
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Ability to ensure legal and regulatory compliance
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Professional appearance
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team environment under supervision
