Senior Application Administrator (Position for relocation)

Scalors GmbH, a software outsourcing company based in Germany with development centers in Lisbon and Kiev, is looking for Senior Application Administrator to join highly qualified team in Munich (Germany) and become utterly absorbed in payment system development.

Senior Application Administrator

Responsibilities:

  • Install, update, tune and diagnose applications in Quality Assurance, Customer Testing and Production environments
  • Monitor designated applications and infrastructure, take corrective actions to prevent or minimize errors or even system down times
  • Provide application performance tuning
  • Work closely with application development teams to tune and troubleshoot applications
  • Responsible for problem management activities such as issue resolution and root cause analysis
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any reported problems
  • Assist and execute scripts (e.g. DML/DDL, monitoring) as required
  • Provide 3rd Level support for the applications, On-call service at night and at weekends
  • Create and maintain documentation (e.g. configuration, operational) accordingly and train others as needed
  • Actively participate on projects in close collaboration with other business analysts, project managers and quality assurance
  • Take initiative in continuous improvement
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned
  • Keep current with the latest technology

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or educational equivalent in computer science or information technology field, or several years of equivalent work experience
  • Strong Linux experience including scripting (e.g. Bash, Python, Ruby, Perl) for administration tasks
  • Comprehensive knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g. Nagios)
  • Experience with Java application containers such as Tomcat and WebLogic
  • Experience with SQL Query Development as it relates to Oracle / MySQL
  • Experience with agile development and project management methods is desired
  • Experience in Puppet, RPM and most common revision control systems is advantage
  • Hands on experience in process automation (e.g. recurring tasks, workflow), best practice approach, technology efficiency and effectiveness
  • Excellent problem solving/analytical skills and knowledge of analytical tools
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with a diverse group of internal customers
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and take initiative
  • Ability to learn new content areas and new skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English
