Duties and Responsibilities

Role 1: Building the Trusted Relationship

A BRE is the IT liaison for each department in the organization who understands all business processes and provides technology and process reengineering guidance to ensure maximum return on investment

The challenge of this role is to raise organization awareness of what Value BRE can bring to the business. Considering current state of IT and business relationship the first step is to reduce business and IT barriers by bridging communication and understanding between business and IT, and building mutual trust. Classifying the roles stakeholders’ play, the importance of stakeholder’s power and influence, explaining the role of the BRE, confirming relationships and roles, recruiting trusted teams and following relationship building plan are the most important actions of this role

Role 2: Alignment of IT and business strategies

The role of BRE is critical to ensuring IT alignment with the business. The BRE is responsible for understanding the overarching business model as well as the intricacies and nuances of their assigned functional business areas

Helping assigned business areas to disaggregate business strategies to systems and link them with business objectives; Helping to develop Business Solutions (process and technology change) and business cases that effectively illustrate the value of the need from cost/benefits to the alignment of the organization’s goals are the most important actions in creating Business Strategy and aligning it with IT

By identifying opportunities for improvement, sequencing, prioritizing and selecting the actions to perform, BRE will help to create a mutually agreed with business the Function Strategy implementation roadmap to meet customer needs and strategic objectives of the company

To be able to perform this role the BRE should have strong ability to communicate internal IT capabilities to the business by validate business needs in business terms and translating IT language to business language; and to sell IT solutions to the business by articulating IT solutions in terms of business value and linking IT solutions to pains

Role 3: Managing the business strategy realization

The business strategy realization is a complicated change process within the organization should not just implement technology side but also change a process and people side

The critical goal of the change process is to achive the Business Value and to ensure a seamless transition in a short term. The ultimate goal is to ensure long term organizational performance by achieving deep assimilation of a change in the organization’s life and to provide an excellent Solution Support after implementation phase

Creating and maintaining communication channels, continuing relationship building , establishing and monitoring implementation’s performance metrics, evaluating results are the essential activities driving BRE success

Effectively implemented BRE role blurs the line between the business and IT, creates a seamless ability for the business to leverage the services and expertize of the IT organization to obtain the necessary solutions to ensure mission execution success. An individual success in this role will be viewed both by a contributing member of the functions he/she represents and by the information technology team

Role 4: Driving the innovation

The last but not the least role of BRE is to be an innovation driver for assigned business units. We have the edge on a lot of other departments in that we have a clear opportunity to innovate for our businesses. This opportunity and the way we use it is vast - we are at the cutting edge. Over the coming years we can make a real difference to our businesses if we genuinely understand what the business strategy is and how IT can use innovations to help to deliver on strategic goals – and stretch beyond them to deliver even more. In a time when the economy is still struggling, companies that can become efficient and effective survive, but those who innovate can lead. To move the organization in this direction the BRE must foresee and advertise innovation opportunities, and stimulate the movement toward new creative ways of doing business

Competency

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 2 years in a similar role with proven record in delivering clear business benefits

Highly desirable a business background with an IT focus

Gained experience working with customers to develop solutions to complex business problems

Successfully developed and implemented new work processes or process improvements

Experienced in IT project planningand controlling

SOFT SKILL

(Abilities which enable to carryout complex management activities)

Strong business knowledge, business acumen, critical thinking

Strong collaboration & teamwork skills; Able to work in multi-cultural environment

Strong communication and presentation skills; Able to communicate with all management levels

Strong analytical skills; Able to understand complex processes; Able to decompose the abstract into details

Fluent English written and spoken

HARD SKILL

(Capacities which enable to carryout specific thechnical activities)

Business Intelligence

Experience in OLAP systems modeling and maintenance

Knowledge of information architecture concepts & methodologies

Functional knowledge of SAP Business Suite including SAP ERP, CRM, SCM, TM

Detailed knowledge and implementation experience on SAP Data warehousing and BI platform

Ability to implement and improve SAP planning application based on BI-IP

FIT
