Texel develops and manufactures solutions that enable high-precision 3D capture, measurement and analysis of human body. The company helps retailers to provide highly personalized fit score and size recommendations to shoppers, resulting in increases to net revenue, conversion rate and returns reduction.
As our team builds and supports new applications at a rapid pace, we are looking for an exceptional UI/UX Designer. You will be part of Product team and work with large fashion retailers and our technical team. An ideal candidate is a visual thinker with design thinking experience (user interviews, etc).
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Define user interfaces for mobile, web, and tv-based media applications.
Follow a user experience design process from concept to execution; approach design from a user’s perspective, listening to users and balancing their needs alongside business goals and technical capabilities.
Collaborate with fellow designers (UX, motion/prototypers) to help evolve the design language of the applications.
Communicate with stakeholders (representing business, product, and engineering) to understand requirements and priorities.
Generate design work plans; accurately estimate work items and communicate dependencies and issues as necessary.
Communicate design decisions and specifications in a scalable and reproducible form.
Participate in the development of the larger design team through dialogue, mentoring, and internal projects (for example, tool and process research, template and pattern creation). You continually push to humanize our products
You seek out new ways to enhance the standing of the product and brand
You look across properties to find synergies and opportunities
An online portfolio featuring great work for mobile, tv, and web applications and brand/identity.
Utilizing rapid prototyping and iterative design techniques.
Designing for multiple platforms and screens.
Defining and evolving design systems
Leading project design efforts/teams.
Working closely with a cross-functional team of designers, software engineers, product managers, and business owners through all product development phases.
Delivering engineering-friendly design specifications and documentation.
Informing and evangelizing the design process.
Professional experience with digital media/entertainment and associated platforms (mobile, web, TV) is a significant advantage
You are skilled in the creation of detailed wireframes, app maps, user & feature flows, and information architecture deliverables.
Solid foundational design skills and sensibilities.

Reports to Head of Product.
Works with counterparts throughout the Texel organization. Works with external partners including vendors.
2+ years digital design experience or comparable relevant school experience
Comfort with standard UX tools and user-centered design practices
The ability to uncover and apply audience insight
Familiarity with data, analytics and technology (both front and back-end)
A foundational knowledge of content strategy
Strong communication, problem-solving and organization skills
Comfort with collaborating and incorporating feedback
An always-on desire to learn
A clean design aesthetic and the ability to simplify the complex
