FIRST WAP INTERNATIONAL DMCC is hiring a seasoned Technical Manager, with strong experience in the IT domain, while experience in the Telecom domain shall be considered an advantage, for its Jakarta, Indonesia, location. We are looking for a candidate, who is capable of working under pressure and of maintaining his integrity and stamina while delivering projects for our demanding international clients. This is an exciting new opportunity for a high-caliber professional to manage and master the development strategy and planning.
This position of a Software Development Manager is an ideal opportunity to learn and grow in the field of cutting-edge IT and Telecom categories, in standards, concepts and upcoming development as well as in customer relationship and management. The successful candidate is expected to be a creative thinker, who can craft its vision and lead both technical and business stakeholders towards significant achievements and success. He shall lead and manage a team of 35 Software Development Engineers, Team Leads and the Deputy Manager of the Software Development department. The department is expanding and constantly required to improve, hence human resource management, coaching / supporting and hiring strategies are important soft skills for the offered position.
o Managing and excelling the SDLC process of the company, crafting development strategy, roadmap and planning, mastering reporting and controls for stable development progress.
o Proficient in handling the most complex of technical development concepts, latest software tools and technologies, strong database concepts and designing techniques. Being the driving force of developing, promoting, and monitoring development standards and best practices.
o Educated in technical and mathematical concepts for Software Engineering and Algorithmics for direct involvement in the design process, able to deliver a robust and powerful solution for the current and future needs of our international clients, growing in numbers.
o Good understanding of different programming languages and possessing ability to solve problems in coding, testing and deployment. Providing support to team member with software or other technical difficulties.
o Good knowledge of different software systems, client/server architectures and various compatibility requirements.
o Managing the effective use of team resources to implement ongoing projects, enhancements, and/or initiatives, participating in the design/development process, understanding of project and design/development requirements, directing the development and projects in the right direction in a timely manner.
o Acting as the subject matter expert for assigned applications, systems, technologies and lead investigations and resolution efforts for critical/high impact problems, providing technical guidance to team members, able to manage change and effectively communicate and pass on the information down the line to concerned teams for smoother execution
o Able to guide the team through the design, development, testing and implementation stages and review the completed work effectively, delegating and allocating responsibilities efficiently to manage tasks and projects end to end.
o Leading effectively teams and inspiring others to achieve goals through innovation, quality and excellence, able to identify the skills, needed for each development project and suitable team members, organizing training and qualification programs internally or via 3rd parties.
o Conducting interviews, hiring and training new technical development/IT staff, able to identify strengths and weaknesses of team members and suitably make changes if required.
o Having resourceful management skills and ability to handle complex / sensitive issues, able to match project tasks with opportunities for development so that employee potential is utilized to the maximum.
o Able to make teams to follow the correct procedures, policies and documentation requirements across task and project phases.
o Able to abstract technical design / implementations as well as current status for direct reports to the top executive management of the company.
o Working close together with our offices overseas, overcoming successfully cultural differences.
o B.S. or higher in computer science, information systems or equivalent.
o 5+ years’ experience developing relational and non-relational data bases (MySQL, Maria DB, Cassandra, Mongo DB).
o 5+ years’ experience in team management position and responsibility for SDLC.
o 3+ years' experience in project management and direct customer communications.
o Hands on experience on Linux (Ubuntu and CentOS).
o Has already led / steered a mixed size project (10+ staff / 1-year project duration) from kick off till rollout.
• Development background:
o Strong development background with the development platform (J2EE).
o Strong background using various libraries, framework and patterns in particular technology stack.
o Strong background in design and implementation of external services integrations (using REST, SOAP and/or ESB).
o Strong experience with multiple full life cycle software development processes, approaches and methods (SCRUM & Waterfall).
o Self-motivated and autodidactic learning of new domains, like Mobile Telecommunication Concepts and technologies, Mobile Application Technologies, etc.
• Solution architecture:
o Deep expertise in solution architecture.
o Strong background in distributed service / function design and architecture.
o Strong background in multi-processing / threading architectures and approaches.
o Web application architectures.
o Web services architectures.
o Relational and non-relational data storage specific.
o Web application front-end and/or back-end architecture.
o Solution cross-cutting concerns (security, monitoring, caching, etc.).
• Strong understanding of:
o Mission critical application architecture design.
o Scalable application architecture design.
o High performance application architecture design.
o Licensing and encryption policies.
o Career path management / staff mentoring.
• Strong expertise in:
o Architectural styles.
o Enterprise architecture patterns.
o Integration patterns.

Skills and experience, giving preference:
o Project Management Professional (PMP).
o Experience with client / server design and development by using state of the art tools.
o TOGAF Certified (Open Group) or Enterprise Architect Certified Master (ORACLE).
o Certified Strum master.
o Hands on experience on project management tools like Jira/Redmine.
o Good understanding of version control (SVN, GIT).
o Good understanding of enterprise software product development processes.
o Software developer certifications.
o Ready to join in maximum 60 days after offer acceptance.
