Senior Accountant

An international retail company is looking for a Senior Accountant in Almaty.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5–6 years of relevant experience, preferably in the tax department of a Big Four accounting firm

• CPA certification is preferable

• Experience in international companies, particularly those engaged in import/export or trade operations, is a strong advantage

• Proficient in SAP and advanced MS Excel, including the ability to generate and present detailed financial reports

• Fluency in English (both written and verbal)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication, planning, and organizational abilities

• A collaborative team player with a proactive and self-motivated approach

Responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting tasks of all accounting cycles
• Analyse and report financial results
• Perform month/year-end closing transactions with the team
• Prepare monthly financial statements and other required reports under local GAAP
• Prepare monthly tax returns
• Perform periodic account reconciliations
• Co-operate with Reporting, Budgeting and Finance teams in daily transactions, audits, closing and budget processes
• Perform monthly TB analysis
• Report to Head of Accounting
