JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for representing the Compliance function in the assigned business region, in accordance with standards of good corporate governance, leading ethic practices and community expectations.
Accountable to implement the compliance monitoring program set out in the Compliance Management Framework and related procedures and to help fostering a culture of Compliance within the assigned business region, in accordance with the strategy outlined in the annual Compliance Plan and in alignment with the relevant Geo Head.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Government, Risk and Compliance
Engage with Geo Head and regional heads in BU Operations, PC’s EMOs and PGMs for understanding compliance concerns and identify required solutions in alignment with existing policies and procedures and Corporate Compliance department.
- Implementing the compliance monitoring program in the assigned business regions in liaison with local business leaders and Compliance Champions .
- Develop, manage and update compliance registers for the assigned business region. Ensure they are uploaded in the relevant Compliance Module on the GRC Platform
- Arrange and deliver relevant training to action owners and Compliance Champions on compliance monitoring through GRC Platform
- Monitor Change In Law (CIL) notifications received in accordance with ACWA Power’ CIL process and ensure material changes are implemented in the compliance registers on as needed basis
- Help identifying high-risk regulations and contractual obligations to be included in the compliance register.
- Support the business owners to complete the compliance self-assessment in relation to the identified compliance registers and requirements
- Control the quality of the self-assessments and perform required compliance testing.
- Review and monitor the identified corrective actions.
- Support Corporate Compliance in delivering Compliance training on “as needed” basis.
- Support Corporate Compliance in preparing and developing presentations for the Board / Board Committees.
Compliance system
- Supporting Corporate Compliance in implementing compliance policies at regional level/first point of contact for any related queries.
- Interaction with other enabling functions at regional level for any compliance related matter
- Support in performing periodic internal Compliance Management reviews at BU Operations level.
- Provide opinions to BU Operations on regulatory requirements and standards in alignment with Corporate Compliance department
- Support implementing Compliance KPIs at regional level
Control of compliance
- Monitor and identify instances of non-compliance in the regions and report and escalate to Compliance Head.
- Support in investigating instances of non-compliance by providing related information to the Compliance Head.
- Conduct compliance management education and trainings in accordance with Compliance training calendar for promoting compliance awareness
- Consolidate compliance status across the assigned region and report the findings to Corporate Compliance department
- Keep abreast of regulatory and industry trends to manage Compliance risk and align with Corporate Compliance department and Head of Compliance in identifying required controls
- First point of contact for, and responsible for providing guidance to, Compliance Champions and relevant business leaders on any aspect of the implementation of the Compliance Management Framework.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in law from a reputed university is highly preferred.
- Any compliance certification and qualification are preferred, preferably through ICA
Minimum Experience:
- 5-7 years' experience in a compliance and legal capacity.
- Industry experience is preferred.
Skills:
- Knowledge of the applicable legal framework in the assigned region, industry related laws on workplace regulations
- Good knowledge of corporate, contracts and labour laws.
- Strong expertise in legal, regulatory and corporate governance matters.
- Proficiency in English, Russian and Uzbek is preferred
